A cladding method statement that matches the elevation you're covering.

Describe the cladding, from timber boarding on a house to rainscreen panels on a commercial unit. You get a method statement and risk assessment back, with work at height, falling objects and panel handling built in.

What it covers

The sequence for fixing brackets and carrier rails, installing insulation, and fitting panels or render to each elevation. It records how scaffold ties are moved to let the cladding go on, how panels are lifted, and the exclusion zone kept below the work.

Hazards and controls

Falls from scaffold or a MEWP, controlled by full edge protection and trained operators. Scaffold ties altered by the cladding team, controlled by leaving any change to the scaffolder. Falling panels, fixings and tools, controlled by brick guards, tool lanyards and an exclusion zone. Then wind catching panels, silica dust from drilling, mineral wool fibres and wet render on skin. Controls follow the hierarchy, so collective protection comes before PPE.

Competence and training

Cladding needs installers trained in the system being fitted, IPAF cards for anyone operating a MEWP, and PASMA training for towers. The method statement names the competence required and the standards it works to, so a principal contractor can check it at a glance.

FAQ

Does it cover MEWP work?
Yes. Where the job uses a MEWP, the method names the operator training and the permit, and overturning and entrapment are in the risk assessment.
Can I add my own steps?
Yes. Download it as Word and edit anything to match the system, the elevations and the access you are using.
Will it be accepted on site?
It follows the HSE five steps and the CDM 2015 framing site managers expect. A competent person still has to review and sign it off before use.
What does it cost?
Your first document is free. After that, £15 each, three for £35, or ten for £89. No subscription. You can read a full sample before you decide.
