What it covers

The sequence for setting out, fixing track and studs, hanging the boards, and taping and jointing. It records how boards are delivered and stacked, how mobile towers are set up and moved, and how waste and offcuts are cleared each day.

Hazards and controls

Falls from mobile towers, controlled by PASMA-trained users and guardrails on every working platform. Manual handling of boards, controlled by board trolleys, lifting aids and two-person lifts. Overloading the floor with stacked boards, controlled by agreed storage areas and load limits. Then dust from cutting and sanding, cuts from metal stud edges, and other trades on the same floor. Controls follow the hierarchy, so collective controls come before PPE.

Competence and training

Dry lining needs competent operatives with PASMA training for towers and training on any saw they use. The method statement names the competence required and the standards it works to, so a principal contractor can check it at a glance.

FAQ

Does it cover mobile towers?
Yes. Tower set-up, inspection and moving are part of the numbered method, and falls from the tower are in the risk assessment with the matching controls.
Can I add my own steps?
Yes. Download it as Word and edit anything to match the partitions, the boards and the access you are using.
Will it be accepted on site?
It follows the HSE five steps and the CDM 2015 framing site managers expect. A competent person still has to review and sign it off before use.
What does it cost?
Your first document is free. After that, £15 each, three for £35, or ten for £89. No subscription. You can read a full sample before you decide.
